Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) is a public university for women in Rawalpindi, Punjab, founded in 1998, and is regarded as the first women's university in Pakistan. Classes began on 28 December 1998. It runs two campuses: the City Campus at Kacheri Chowk and Campus II on Chakri Road. Departments are grouped into Arts and Humanities (8 departments), Business and Social Sciences (12), Engineering (3) and Science and Technology (4). It has about 5,300 students and a Women Research and Resource Centre.
