The Nippon Institute of Advanced Sciences (NIAS) is Sheikhupura's first federally chartered degree-awarding institute, established after Pakistan's National Assembly and Senate passed the Nippon Institute of Advanced Sciences Bill, and located near the historic Hiran Minar. As a newly established institute, it is focused on advanced and emerging sciences, global collaborations and integrating research with society, and is in the process of building out its academic offerings.
