Waldorf University is a private university in Forest City, Iowa, with Lutheran roots. It was founded in 1903 as Waldorf College and took its current name in 2016. The school was sold to a Columbia Southern University subsidiary in 2010 and operated as a for-profit institution. Ownership moved to the Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation in December 2022, and its accreditor now lists it as non-profit, though the federal education database has still shown a for-profit classification. Waldorf offers associate, bachelor's and master's programs with a liberal arts emphasis through a residential campus and a large online division, with around 2,700 students reported in fall 2022. Its Warriors teams compete in the NAIA's Great Plains Athletic Conference, and in 2010 it launched Iowa's first collegiate women's wrestling program.
