The University of Suffolk was established in 2007 as University Campus Suffolk (UCS), created as a collaboration between the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex to bring higher education directly to Suffolk. It gained independence and full university status from the Privy Council in 2016, adopting its current name, the University of Suffolk. Its BA (Hons) History programme spans the early medieval period through to the modern day, exploring themes across both global and British history, alongside the university's wider portfolio of applied, career-focused degrees.
