The University of Karachi was established in 1951 and remains one of the biggest public universities in Pakistan, on University Road. Its fall 2026 open-merit BS intake, reported by ProPakistani, ran online applications from 12 to 21 October 2026 for morning programmes, with the notice naming female candidates. Programmes span sciences, computing, business, social sciences, languages and education, with third-year entry in subjects such as Computer Science and Commerce. Minimum intermediate marks are reported as 50 per cent in some guides and 60 per cent in others, and an entrance test with a 50 per cent pass mark is used in some cycles, so applicants should read the notice for their programme. The university runs a separate admissions portal.
