The University of Engineering and Technology Taxila was established in the 1970s as an expansion of UET Lahore, located in Taxila, Punjab. It operates six faculties: Basic Sciences & Humanities, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering, Telecom & Information Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. The university publishes an internationally-indexed Technical Journal and offers comprehensive student facilities including hostels, library, medical center, and transport.
