The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) was formed in 1987 by combining the University of Alaska Juneau (itself a 1980 merger of Juneau-Douglas Community College and Southeastern Senior College) with the Ketchikan and Sitka community colleges. UAS maintains campuses in Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan.
