RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) was established in 2006 in Ras Al Khaimah by the Ras Al Khaimah Human Development Foundation, under the leadership of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who serves as the university's Chancellor. It began with an MBBS programme in the same founding year, which has since been reformed into a Doctor of Medicine (MD) pathway from the 2022-2023 academic year onward, and it added Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Bachelor of Nursing programmes in 2007, rounding out its focus on training healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines.
