PetroSkills traces its roots to the PetroSkills Alliance, founded in 2001 by Shell, BP and the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) to provide competency-based training across the oil and gas industry, and has since grown into an alliance of dozens of member companies spanning the global energy sector. In 2014 PetroSkills acquired Resource Development Company (RDC), which brought 50 years of compliance-focused training experience, and in 2019 it acquired Simulation Solutions Inc., adding high-fidelity process models and DCS system emulations to its offering. From its Dubai centre, PetroSkills delivers more than 170 learning programmes, with over 500 hours of online training, covering Upstream, Midstream and Downstream operations, business and management, and health, safety and environment.
