National University is a private nonprofit headquartered in La Jolla, in San Diego, and has served adult learners since 1971. It enrolls many working adults, with an average student age reported around 32, and runs campuses across California along with a large online arm. Listings put enrollment in the tens of thousands, although figures vary by source and year. Programmes span business, education, nursing, engineering and technology at undergraduate and graduate level. Third-party listings describe its admission as open and non-competitive with rolling starts rather than one annual deadline, though these descriptions come from older data. International applicants face English proficiency requirements, with a reported IELTS minimum of 5.5 for undergraduate and 6.0 for graduate study. Requirements vary by programme, so applicants should confirm them with the admissions team.
