The University of Agriculture, Peshawar was upgraded to a full university in 1981 as the NWFP Agricultural University, and it later took the name Agricultural University Peshawar and then The University of Agriculture, Peshawar after the province was renamed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It runs an admissions page for undergraduate and postgraduate intakes; the Fall 2026 undergraduate notice invited online applications from 17 to 31 August 2026 for the Main Campus and the Amir Muhammad Khan campus in Mardan. For graduate programmes the university holds its own University Admission Test. One profile says undergraduate applicants need at least 50 per cent in FSc and an ETEA or approved test, which the university's pages did not confirm.
