Menlo College is a private, business-focused college at 1000 El Camino Real in Atherton, California, which grew out of the Menlo School for Boys and dates to 1927. The Great Depression put it at risk of closing in 1931 before loans from board chairman C. F. Michaels helped rescue it. Between 1955 and 1965 enrollment grew from 576 to 846. Athletics began in 1928; the Oaks gained NCAA affiliation in 1986, moved to the NAIA in 2010, and were accepted into NCAA Division II in 2024, joining the PacWest conference from 2024-25. Roughly half of students are athletes across about 15 varsity teams. Wikipedia lists about 825 undergraduates. Check menlo.edu for the current application process.
