Jacksonville State University (JSU) is a public university in Jacksonville, Alabama, founded in 1883 as Jacksonville State Normal School to prepare teachers. It became Jacksonville State Teachers College in 1930, Jacksonville State College in 1957, and adopted its current name in 1966.
