JSS International School (previously known as JSS Academy) was founded in 2009 in Al Barsha, launched by JSS Academy FZ LLC as an ICSE curriculum school at a time of rising demand from Indian expatriate families for Indian-curriculum education in Dubai. It was formally inaugurated on 30 March 2009 by former Indian President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. By 2017 the original Al Barsha campus had reached full capacity with around 1,800 students, prompting a move to a larger site in Jumeirah Village Circle, where the school continues to deliver the ICSE curriculum alongside academics and extracurricular activities such as dance, drama and swimming.
