ILMA University began in 2001 as BIZTEK (Institute of Business & Technology), set up by the Global Education Consultants Society to support Pakistan's socio-economic progress through higher education. It was granted university status in May 2017 through legislation passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh. The main campus is on Ibrahim Hyderi Road near Korangi Creek, Karachi, with a second campus in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Its faculties cover management sciences, computer science, science and technology, and media and design, with undergraduate, graduate and PhD programmes, including doctoral degrees in Management Sciences and Computing.
