INSEAD, the French graduate business school whose main campus dates back to 1957, established a presence in Abu Dhabi in 2007 and launched its Middle East campus more fully around 2010, when the Middle East section of its Global Executive MBA began its first classes in the emirate. Unlike a full degree-granting branch campus, the Abu Dhabi site functions primarily as a base for executive education, serving working managers and organisations rather than school-leavers or typical undergraduate students. Its flagship offering is the Middle East segment of INSEAD's Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), an intensive 14-to-17-month fast-track programme that begins classes in Abu Dhabi each October and draws participants with an average of around 14 years of work experience, many already in management roles. The campus also runs standalone executive education programmes tailored to individual managers and to organisations seeking customised leadership training.
