Government College University (GCU) Faisalabad is a public university in Faisalabad, Punjab. It began as a primary school in 1897, became a degree college in 1933, started postgraduate programmes in 1963 and was granted university status in 2002. It has a 37-acre main campus and a 200-acre new campus, and offers programmes through colleges including Law, Arts and Social Sciences, Economics and Management Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Islamic and Oriental Learning, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Medical Sciences. It is accredited by the Higher Education Commission.
