Georgetown College is a private Christian liberal arts college in Georgetown, Kentucky. The Kentucky General Assembly chartered it in 1829, making it the first Baptist college west of the Appalachians; it ended its ties with the Kentucky Baptist Convention in 2013. (The 1789 date in the listing does not match the 1829 charter in available sources; the institution traces earlier roots to a 1787 academy per some histories, which I did not verify.) It enrolls about 1,565 students, including 1,109 undergraduates, offers dozens of majors and a master's degree in education, and has a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio. It is known for five Rhodes Scholars, 38 Fulbright Scholars since 1989 and the Maskrafters, the oldest collegiate theater company in Kentucky. The Tigers compete in the NAIA's Mid-South Conference. Per Common App, it is test optional with typical minimums of about a 2.3 GPA and 19 ACT.
