Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) is an Abu Dhabi government higher education institute, founded in 2007 under a decree of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. It was created specifically to strengthen the UAE's teaching profession, at a time when the country was investing heavily in modernising its school system and needed a steady pipeline of well-trained, locally prepared educators. The college focuses on preparing and developing teachers, offering postgraduate diplomas and master's programmes for both pre-service candidates entering the profession and in-service teachers already working in schools who want to upgrade their qualifications. Its academic offerings span areas such as early childhood education, teaching science and mathematics, and teaching English language, reflecting the range of specialisations needed across the UAE's school system.
