Emirates Aviation University began as Dubai Aviation College in 1991, merged with the Emirates Group in 2002 and was renamed Emirates Aviation College, before receiving formal university status from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in December 2010, capping nearly two decades of development into a full-fledged higher-education institution. As the educational arm of the Emirates Group, one of the world's largest airline groups, the university has a distinctive industry-embedded model, drawing on direct links to Emirates' operations, engineering and training facilities that few standalone aviation schools can match. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, diplomas and professional training focused specifically on the aviation industry, including degrees in aerospace, aeronautical and mechanical engineering that launched in 2004, and an MBA in Aviation Management introduced in 2007 for professionals seeking management careers within the sector.
