In 2014 it was absorbed into the newly established Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and renamed the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, becoming one of MBRU's two founding colleges alongside the College of Medicine.
