Cuyahoga Community College, called Tri-C, was founded in 1963 and is described as Ohio's oldest and largest public community college. Ohio only allowed community colleges from 1961, when it was one of four states without them, and Charles Chapman was its first president. Its four primary campuses are Eastern in Highland Hills, Metropolitan in Cleveland's Campus District, Western in Parma and Parma Heights, and Westshore in Westlake, with the Brunswick University Center and two Corporate College sites in Warrensville Heights and Westlake. The college reported 15,764 students in fall 2022. It runs on semesters and offers over 1,000 courses in associate degree programmes, in classrooms, online and through its Cable College, which has aired live classes on Cleveland cable since the early 1990s. It has transfer agreements with four-year institutions and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Michael A. Baston has been president since 2022.
