Curtin University Dubai opened in September 2017 in Dubai International Academic City as the Middle East campus of Australia's Curtin University, whose main Perth campus has a long history in engineering and applied sciences education. As a genuine branch campus rather than a franchise arrangement, Curtin Dubai offers students the option of completing an Australian-accredited degree without relocating overseas, while still following curricula closely aligned with the home campus. Its programme range spans foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels across fields including business and management, engineering, information technology and computing, health sciences, and arts and humanities, alongside specialised postgraduate courses such as the MBA, cybersecurity, and engineering management, reflecting a mix of traditional professional degrees and newer technology-focused specialisations. A dedicated Foundation Programme, authorised by Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority, helps students who do not initially meet direct-entry requirements prepare for undergraduate study.
