College of the Ozarks is a private Christian college in Point Lookout, Missouri, known as Hard Work U. Pastor James Forsythe proposed the school in 1901 as a high school, and it opened in 1906 as the School of the Ozarks. A fire destroyed its original building in 1915, and classes were temporarily held in Forsyth before the school relocated to Point Lookout. It became a junior college in 1956, a four-year college in 1965, and took its current name in 1994 after gaining regional accreditation. The college charges no tuition to full-time students; instead they work 15 hours a week on campus plus two 40-hour work weeks during breaks. It enrolls about 1,400 students across more than 30 majors. Features include the Ralph Foster Museum, and its NAIA teams are the Bobcats.
