Canadian University Dubai (CUD) was founded in 2006 as the first licensed Canadian university operating outside Canada, established through partnerships with Canadian institutions including Centennial College and Athabasca University, giving it formal academic ties to the Canadian higher-education system from the outset rather than being a purely independent private venture. It delivers a Canadian-based curriculum through schools of Management, Architecture and Interior Design, Communication and Creative Industries, Engineering and Technology, and Health Sciences and Psychology, with more than 25 accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programmes spanning more than 30 specialised majors, concentrations and focus areas. Programme offerings include practically oriented options such as a Bachelor of Science in Power and Renewable Energy Engineering, alongside programmes in public health, environmental studies, and a Doctor of Business Administration for advanced professional study.
