Beulah Heights University is a private Christian institution in southeast Atlanta that began as a Pentecostal Bible school in 1918, started by Paul and Hattie Barth with encouragement from Hattie's mother, Elizabeth Sexton. It served a handful of local students until 1928. In 1940 it merged with Southeastern Bible Institute of New Brockton, Alabama, which left for Lakeland, Florida in 1946. It became a four-year Bible college in 1962, was chartered by the State of Georgia in 1963 and was renamed Beulah Heights College in 1966. The university is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) and the Association for Biblical Higher Education, and is approved by Georgia's nonpublic postsecondary education commission to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. It runs an open admissions policy that also looks at an applicant's faith commitment, and it does not require SAT or ACT scores.
