St Paul's School is an independent school for boys in Barnes, south-west London, on Lonsdale Road beside the River Thames. It was founded in 1509 by John Colet, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, and originally stood in St Paul's Churchyard before later moving to Hammersmith and, in 1968, to its present site in Barnes. It is a selective day school with a small number of boarders. The senior school educates boys aged 13 to 18, and St Paul's Prep School, which shares the same address, educates boys aged 7 to 13. Entry to the school group is available at 7+, 11+, 13+ and 16+. The school describes itself as open to all boys regardless of their economic or social circumstances and offers means-tested bursaries.
