Minnehaha Academy is a private Christian school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with roots in the Evangelical Covenant tradition. It enrolls 860 students from preschool through grade 12. The idea for the school dates to 1884, when Covenant pastor Rev. Erik August Skogsbergh envisioned it. It was incorporated in 1905, and its first high school students began classes on September 15, 1913. Middle and lower grades came later. Today the school has two campuses on West River Parkway. The high school serves grades 9-12 at 3100 West River Parkway, and the elementary and middle school serves PreK-8 at 4200 West River Parkway. A natural gas explosion struck the Upper School on August 2, 2017, and the school later rebuilt it. Faith runs through academics, arts and athletics.
