Dulwich College is an independent day and boarding school for boys on Dulwich Common in south London. It was founded in 1619 by the Elizabethan actor Edward Alleyn as the College of God's Gift. The College is organised into DUCKS, its early years and infant school for children up to age 7, which takes both girls and boys; the Junior School for boys aged 7 to 11; and the Senior School for boys aged 11 to 18. Boarding is offered in the Upper School. In 1882 the Upper and Lower schools were formally separated, and the Lower School became Alleyn's School. Admission is available at several points, from the youngest DUCKS entry through Years 3 to 6, Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12.
