Berry College is a private, non-denominational Christian liberal arts college in Mount Berry, Georgia, next to Rome. It was founded in 1902 by Martha Berry, who opened the Boys Industrial School on 83 acres, where students worked in exchange for their education. It became a junior college in 1926, graduated its first senior college class in 1932 and gained regional accreditation in 1957. With more than 27,000 acres, its campus is described as the largest contiguous college campus in the world, and designated areas are open to the public for hiking and horseback riding. Berry enrolled about 2,500 students in fall 2024 and maintains a strong student work tradition. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through schools of business, education and humanities and sciences.
