Rowland Hall is an independent, coeducational day school in Salt Lake City, Utah, serving students from preschool through grade 12. Its roots go back to 1867, when Episcopal Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle opened St. Mark's School. Rowland Hall, a sister school for girls, opened in 1880. The school became independent of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah during the Great Depression, and the two schools merged in 1964. Today Rowland Hall enrolls about 1,000 students in its Beginning, Lower, Middle and Upper Schools. The school also runs the Rowmark Ski Academy, founded in 1982. The academy combines academics with year-round competitive ski racing. Upper School teams compete in the Utah High School Activities Association.
