Preparatory School Islamabad (PSI) is a private, co-educational, English-medium school in Islamabad. Mrs Shabnam Ashraf founded it in 1990 as an elementary and primary school with six teachers. It first operated from a large bungalow on Luqman Hakeem Road in Sector G-6. The school now stands in Diplomatic Enclave II, Sector G-5. PSI extended its classes beyond Class V in 1996. It introduced Cambridge O Level classes in 2000, and its first batch of 12 students sat Cambridge examinations in 2002. The school has since added Cambridge A Level classes. Today PSI teaches more than 1,000 students and employs over 200 teaching, management and support staff. It keeps class sizes small to give students individual attention. Student houses are named Courage, Endeavour and Honour.
