Latymer Upper School is an independent co-educational day school on King Street in Hammersmith, west London. It teaches about 1,400 pupils aged 11 to 18. The school traces its origins to 1624, when the lawyer Edward Latymer left part of his wealth to clothe and educate "eight poore boyes" from Hammersmith. Social inclusion remains central to its ethos, and the school runs a means-tested bursary scheme. Pupils move through the Lower School, Middle School and Sixth Form. The school has a 32-acre sports ground in Chiswick, a sports centre with a 25-metre pool, an arts centre with a 300-seat theatre and a boat house on the Thames. More than 800 pupils learn a musical instrument. Latymer Prep is its sister school.
