Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is a public community college in Overland Park, Kansas, serving Johnson County and the wider Kansas City metropolitan area. Its creation was approved by county voters in 1967, and classes began in 1969 in leased facilities in Merriam before the college moved to its permanent campus at College Boulevard and Quivira Road in 1972. JCCC offers credit courses covering the first two years of most college curricula for students planning to transfer, along with career and technical programs, continuing education, and workforce training. The campus houses the Billington Library and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, which opened in 2007. The college follows an open-admission policy and enrolls roughly 18,700 credit students. It is governed by a seven-member board of trustees elected at large by county residents.
