Howard Community College is a public community college in Columbia, Maryland, with a satellite location in Laurel. It was established in 1966 by the Howard County Board of Education, and its first classes were held in October 1970. The college offers credit programs in more than 100 areas organized into eight academic divisions, along with noncredit and workforce development courses. Its Science, Engineering and Technology building includes labs for 3D printing and cybersecurity. Fall 2022 enrollment was reported at 8,080 undergraduates. HCC serves recent high school graduates, transfer students, visiting students and adult learners in Howard County and surrounding areas.
