Dean Close School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. It opened in 1886 in memory of Dean Francis Close, a Rector of Cheltenham and an educational philanthropist. The school keeps a Christian ethos, built on the values of courage, contribution and love. It sits on a 50-acre site on the outskirts of the town. Together with Dean Close Preparatory and Dean Close Pre-Preparatory, it offers an all-through education for pupils aged 2 to 18. The Senior School teaches pupils aged 13 to 18. In the Sixth Form, students choose from A Level courses and BTEC qualifications, and Leiths Cookery courses are also available. All sixth formers join the Nexus programme of lectures and leadership activities. The school belongs to the wider Dean Close Foundation.
