Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA

Cerritos College is a public two-year community college in Norwalk, California, in the Gateway Cities area of southeast Los Angeles County. It was established in 1955 after a regional vote by residents of seven school districts, and its 135-acre campus sits about 20 miles from Downtown Los Angeles. The college offers 284 majors across 97 departments and 11 academic divisions, and it is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. In June 2020 it became the first California community college to offer housing for students without stable housing. Math and Computer Information Sciences and Fine Arts buildings opened in 2017. Its athletic teams, the Falcons, compete in the South Coast Conference, and the college's name, taken from Rancho Los Cerritos, helped inspire the renaming of the neighboring city of Cerritos.
