Bronx Community College (BCC) is a public community college of the City University of New York (CUNY). It sits on a 45-acre campus in the University Heights section of the Bronx, overlooking the Harlem River. The college was founded in 1957, and early classes met at Hunter College and the former Bronx High School of Science building. In 1973, BCC moved to the University Heights campus, which New York University had used before. The campus is home to the Hall of Fame for Great Americans, designed by Stanford White. His campus buildings became a National Historic Landmark in 2012. BCC offers associate degrees and certificates, a Center for Sustainable Energy, and continuing and professional studies.
